As a fix to this behaviour, Windows Mobile 6 now assumes any connection that fails is bad and completely deletes the stored settings for that access point.  Re-entering all Wi-Fi settings becomes a huge hassle for users - and an even bigger hassle for IT departments as passwords need to be re-entered each time the connection fails.

The Solution: Windows Mobile offers programmers the ability to retrieve these stored settings. WiFi Hero uses system calls to retrieve your Wi-Fi settings, stores the resulting data, and can restore it as often as needed. Due to security, logically, passwords can not be retrieved so WiFi Hero allows you to enter and save passwords as required.
